Look and Live Better Naturally

One aspect of looking and living better is living a harmonious life of low stress by using the senses in a good way.  Over stimulation of the senses and poor low quality food is stress on the physical system.   In addition to proper use of the senses complete stress reduction also requires control of the mind as well.

According to Ayurveda,  having a good diet, eating high quality food, using herbal supplements and using techniques of Yoga to bring about greater control of the mind is important to reduce stress.

When the mind can focus and resist being distracted, stress is reduced and you can achieve more.  The physical aspect of the body relaxes as do internal bodily processes.  Heart rate slows down and there is a decrease in sympathetic nervous system activity which helps to reduce secretion of stress chemicals such as epinephrine.  The body will be healthier when the mind is calm and clear.

To help maintain well being it is important to realise that as we age the accumulated effects of stress and poor lifestyle and take steps to improve our lives.    In the 21st century there is a marked increase  in chronic lifestyle diseases as a result of our stressful lifestyles.  For example, cardiovascular disease, the deterioration of all the tissues of the body, bones become osteoporotic and the list goes on.   Each results from decades of wear and tear.

Ayurveda teaches that healing is a process of bringing the body and mind back into balance, restoring optimal function.  Health is the experience of this balance and optimal function.   Through Ayurveda we are able to remove the cause of many diseases and gently support the healing processes with natural remedies, lifestyle and medicines provided by natural herbs.

In Ayurveda there are no two patients who experience the same symptoms.  Each of us has a unique individual body constitution or dosha and each disease is also unique.  This means that diseases do not necessarily have the same cause for their condition and in response the cure may be different as well

Through the application of Ayurveda knowledge, we can understand this unique nature of each  together with the individual nature of the disease.  The goal of Ayurveda is to understand the individual nature of the person so that a personalised program of care and support to bring the physical body back to optimal health can be identified.   In this way Ayurveda maximises the potential of the individual’s own internal process of healing and with proper diet, herbal supplements, exercise can expect to increase the quality of life to look and live better naturally.
